May 2026 + Milestones

My youngest son, Sam, graduated from high school this month. My baby is taking flight … a milestone indeed!

For years, I longed for this chapter: raising independent kids, watching them discover who they are, and sending them out into the world to create adventures of their own. And yet, now that it’s here, I’m a little surprised by how quickly we arrived. That said, Sam is ready for his next chapter, and I couldn’t be prouder. There will be new places, new people, new experiences, and, hopefully, a whole lot of discovery along the way. In many ways, that’s what I’ve always hoped for my boys—to have the courage to venture beyond what they know and make the world their classroom.

Soon, our family is entering a new season, too. In the Fall, the house will get a little quieter, the calendar will look a little different, and there will be more room for adventures of our own.

But for now, I am soaking up the hugs, celebrating the memories, and taking in this milestone. Because some departures are bittersweet—and some of the very best adventures begin with letting go. Here’s to the next chapter, Sam. The world is waiting, go explore it!

And I won’t forget to smell the flowers along the way.
