Neskowin for New Years
This New Year’s, we decided to switch things up and stay close to home rather than escape somewhere tropical. My brother purchased a beach house this summer, and it felt like the perfect place to gather with whichever kids were available to join us.
Many had other plans or work commitments, so our group was smaller—but that’s part of this season of life, as they grow, spread their wings, and begin creating traditions of their own, just as we once did.
Our days at the beach were simple and full—taking long walks on the beach, cooking up a storm of black-eyed peas and collard greens, and settling in together to watch the final season of Stranger Things. We rang in the New Year with the ball drop and kept the celebration going, marking each time zone until it was finally the West Coast’s turn.
I’m feeling excited and hopeful for 2026 and all that it has in store!
